What is ceremonial cacao — whole-bean cacao paste

What Is Ceremonial Cacao?

Ceremonial cacao is consciously created, with each step of the process being intentional and made with love. We use the whole bean — nothing stripped, nothing sweetened. Just the cacao, as it has been used in ritual for thousands of years.

Ours is slow-fermented, sun-dried, and ground into pure paste. One cup is grounding, heart-opening, and quietly stimulating — a daily ritual or a deeper ceremony.

Our Beans

Our beans come from smallholder farms in Tanzania, where cocoa is grown the way it has been for generations — organic by default, no synthetic chemicals, no shortcuts. The genetics are classic Trinitario, prized for its complex flavour: red berries, ripe fruit, and a light chocolate-batter finish.

After harvest, the beans are fermented for six days in banana-leaf-lined wooden boxes, then sun-dried on raised tables. Every step is slow. Every step is by hand.
